Duration: 1 Day

As per the directions of the Government of India, Anti-Ragging Day was celebrated at OMAR HMC & RC, Ranjani Jalna on 12th August 2024, followed by Anti-Ragging Week from 12th August to 18th August 2024.

  • An awareness meeting was conducted by Police officials, headed by API Mr. Salve Sir, for fresher and senior students to understand the consequences of ragging and its prevention.
  • Helpline numbers were displayed in the institution for students to report any ragging incidents.
  • Mr. Salve also explained the history of the anti-ragging law, mentioning how the Supreme Court (SC) banned ragging in 2001, and after the tragic death of Aman Kachru in 2009, the court made strict anti-ragging regulations mandatory in all educational institutions.
  • He highlighted how ragging can severely impact a student’s mental health, leading to life-changing consequences for both victims and perpetrators.

We extend our gratitude to Chairperson Mr. Huzeefa Maulana, trustee members, Principal Prof. Dr. Sonal Mithawala, and the organizing team for arranging such an insightful and impactful session on a crucial student-related issue.

Thank You.
